Bio-Electricity Generation by Using Organic Waste in Bangladesh
Resource recovery and recycle of organic waste is a major concern now-a-days all over the world. This present study deals with the Microbial Fuel Cells (MFC) using kitchen garbage to produce electricity as well as recycle of organic waste and its potential use in Bangladesh. A rectangular acrylic container (10 x 10 cm) was used as the cell. The container was filled with well mixed kitchen garba...
متن کاملBiological Treatment of Mercury Waste
A widely used method for removing mercury from polluted water is addition of sodium sulfide. Insoluble mercuric sulfide (HgS), which forms is removed as a sludge (Price et al. 1972) that is then landfilled. It has been assumed that HgS remains permanently insoluble, thus preventing movement of mercury into the surrounding environment. Mercury waste has been treated and buried in this manner for...
متن کاملNUMERICAL SOLUTION OF DELAY INTEGRAL EQUATIONS BY USING BLOCK PULSE FUNCTIONS ARISES IN BIOLOGICAL SCIENCES
This article proposes a direct method for solving three types of integral equations with time delay. By using operational matrix of integration, integral equations can be reduced to a linear lower triangular system which can be directly solved by forward substitution. Numerical examples shows that the proposed scheme have a suitable degree of accuracy.
متن کاملPilot project of mechanical-biological treatment of waste in Brazil.
By mechanical-biological treatment (MBT) of residual municipal solid waste the behaviour of landfills can be significantly improved. After MBT the organic content (COD and BOD5), total organic carbon, and total nitrogen in the leachate, as well as the gas production rate, are reduced to values lower than 90% of the fresh untreated waste. The volume of the stabilized material to be disposed on l...
متن کاملPathogen Inactivation and Regrowth in Organic Waste during Biological Treatment
After proper sanitation treatment, organic wastes such as animal by-products, e.g. catering waste, slaughterhouse waste and manure can be used as fertilisers and soil conditioners and thereby contribute to a sustainable society. However, organic waste may contain pathogenic microorganisms and can thus present a health risk to both humans and animals if not properly treated. In the present thesi...
